Jan Fidelis is a composer, musician, and artist who is dedicated to creating and composing unique projects which blend visual, sonic, and thematic materials. His work is intended to encourage listeners to involve themselves in exploring their imaginative abilities in envisioning detailed sound worlds. When writing and structuring these works, he sees it as a collaborative and supportive process that aims to be both aesthetically true to itself as well as socially conscious, contributing to the artistic community in meaningful ways.
His skill-set includes a mastery of tonal harmony and experimental music techniques, along with years of experience in writing for chamber ensembles, choirs, bands, and jazz orchestras. Recording and production are key assets to making his compositions a reality, often working closely with like-minded musicians to achieve their best possible sound. He has a B.A. in Music Composition from the University of California as well as an M.A. in Music Composition from California State University East Bay. He has also been a guitar, piano, ukulele, bass guitar, music theory, and composition instructor since 2016.
